What to Expect

What is the process for diagnosing my condition at Dr. James Webb & Associates?

Your visit will begin with a thorough examination of your medical history, recent imaging, and bone density scans, followed by a physical examination to diagnose the source of pain accurately.

How does Dr. Webb determine the source of my pain?

Dr. Webb employs a systematic approach based on history, physical examination, and imaging studies to identify and treat the individual components of your pain, focusing on a comprehensive diagnosis rather than just MRI results.

What happens during my first visit?

Our nurse practitioner will review your medical history, symptoms, and perform an actual physical exam, including a comprehensive spine evaluation. Following Dr. Webb’s time-tested protocols, we will develop a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. This may involve lab, imaging, and other diagnostic tests in addition to specific treatments like bracing, physical therapy, or minimally invasive treatment based on your individual situation. This will be done in consultation with Dr. Webb to construct a customized treatment plan focused on lasting pain relief.

What should I prepare before my appointment?

Please bring any recent medical records, imaging results, and a list of current medications. Be prepared to discuss your medical history and any previous treatments you have undergone for your condition.

What happens after a diagnosis is made?

After a diagnosis is made, Dr. Webb will discuss a personalized treatment plan with you, which may include pain management procedures, lifestyle changes, and long-term strategies to optimize bone health and prevent future issues.

Do your treatments require downtime?

Most of our procedures are outpatient and require little to no downtime, allowing you to return to normal activities quickly, usually the next day.

How can I prevent fractures in the future?

There are a variety of treatments available to make your bones stronger. Once you have a fracture, it becomes even more important to treat it to reduce future fracture risk. We focus on bone health management, including taking a wellness approach and augmenting with pharmaceutical therapy, providing personalized strategies to prevent fractures and strengthen bones.
